Cedar Hill Barn, Sugarloaf, NY

Got a chance to catch up with an high school friend that I haven't seen in 25 years. He's in the horse business. Since I too am trying to photograph horse jumping next summer, I thought it might be a good idea to visit his place.



From the gate to the inside of the barn, my friend Joe has left nothing up to chance in his business. Looking forward to coming back when he returns from vacation for a full shoot.



As you can see, lots of detail all around. More to come........

Lake Placid Horse Show

A friend of mine asked if I could come with him and shoot some photos at a horse show. Since I never shot horses before, I said sure. As you can see, many exciting animals and serious competition....even Bruce Springsteen's daughter was competing.



While shooting, I learned about what made a good shot good and what was bad. Having the horse with their hind legs just off the ground is good and they have to be still going upwards, not downwards. Not as easy as it sounds. You be the judge......
